Nirkhi – Privacy Policy

Nirkhi ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that shows a review Trust Score on Amazon.in and Flipkart product pages. It is built to work entirely on your device.

What Nirkhi reads

• Only on these pages: www.amazon.in product and review pages (/dp/…, /gp/product/…, /product-reviews/…) and www.flipkart.com product and review pages (/…/p/…, /…/product-reviews/…). It does not run on any other website.
• What it reads there: the product title, the star-rating breakdown and the reviews visible on the page (star rating, title, text, date, “Verified Purchase/Certified Buyer” label, reviewer display name, number of photos).
• Extra review pages (optional, on by default): to get a better sample, Nirkhi may request up to 3 more review pages of the same product from the same site (Amazon.in or Flipkart), one at a time with a delay of a few seconds. These are ordinary page requests from your browser to that site, like opening the “All reviews” page yourself. You can turn this off in Settings.

What Nirkhi stores

Stored only in your browser with chrome.storage.local:

• your settings (on/off per site, extra pages, AI summary, theme);
• a history of up to 30 recently checked products (title, link, score, grade, time);
• a counter of how many products you’ve checked (used once to show a “Rate Nirkhi” card).

You can clear history from the popup at any time; uninstalling removes everything.

What Nirkhi does NOT do

• No servers: Nirkhi has no backend. Nothing you read or check is sent to the developer or any third party.
• No analytics, no tracking pixels, no ads, no cookies of its own, no account.
• No remote code: all code ships inside the extension package.
• It does not read passwords, payment details, your orders, or pages on other websites.
• It does not sell or share data, and does not use data for creditworthiness or lending.

On-device AI

If your Chrome version includes built-in AI (Gemini Nano via the Summarizer / Prompt API), Nirkhi can use it to write a pros/cons summary. This model runs on your device; review text is not sent anywhere by Nirkhi. If built-in AI isn’t available, a local keyword-based summary is used instead.

About the Trust Score

The score is an automated estimate from patterns in visible reviews. It is not a claim that any review, seller or product is genuine or not genuine. Nirkhi is not affiliated with Amazon or Flipkart.
