Flipkart Review Checker: What Signals to Look For
Fakespot used to be the go-to review checker, but it shut down and never covered Flipkart properly anyway. Flipkart reviews have their own quirks: short Hinglish comments, “Certified Buyer” labels, relative dates like “3 months ago”, and ratings that can be shared across product variants. This guide explains which signals actually help on Flipkart and how to read them.
As always: no checker can prove that a review is genuine or not. The goal is to spot unusual patterns that tell you to read more carefully before you pay.
The signals that matter on Flipkart
1. Certified Buyer share
Flipkart labels reviews from people who bought the product on Flipkart as Certified Buyer. Most reviews on Flipkart carry it, so a noticeably low share is the unusual case.
2. Rating spread
Look at the five bars next to the average. A natural product has a visible middle (3★ and 4★). A J-shape, with tall 5★ and 1★ bars and almost nothing between, is a pattern worth noting.
3. Bursts
Flipkart shows relative dates. If the newest page is full of reviews from “1 week ago” while the product has been listed for a year, look at what those reviews actually say. During big sales popular items naturally get many reviews, so bursts alone are not a red flag.
4. Templated or repeated wording
“Very nice product, value for money, fast delivery, thank you Flipkart” repeated with tiny changes across many reviewers is unusual.
5. Very short, generic reviews
“Super”, “nice”, “good” and “awesome” tell you nothing about the item. Lots of them make the average less informative.
6. Photos and detailed mid-ratings
Customer photos and thoughtful 3★ reviews are the most useful content on the page. Their presence counts in a product’s favour.
Step by step
- Install the checker. Add the free Nirkhi extension to Chrome on a computer.
- Open a Flipkart product. The Trust badge appears automatically with a score (0–100) and grade (A–F).
- Look at the signals. Click the badge. Each signal above is shown as fine, worth a look, or unusual, with a one-line reason.
- Let it read more pages. With “Read more review pages” on (in the popup settings), Nirkhi reads up to 3 more review pages, one every few seconds, for a bigger sample.
- Check the pros and cons. See what buyers repeatedly praise or complain about — battery, heating, fit, delivery.
- Make your own call. Read the recent 1★–3★ reviews, check the seller and the return policy, then decide.

Things a checker cannot see
- Reviews hidden behind filters or on pages it has not read.
- Whether ratings are shared across colour or storage variants (check the variant selector).
- Seller-level issues such as packaging or delivery for your pincode.
That is why Nirkhi explains every signal instead of just showing a number: you can judge for yourself whether the reason applies.
Privacy
Nirkhi has no account, no servers and no tracking. It reads only Amazon.in and Flipkart product and review pages, and its settings and history stay in your browser. Read the privacy policy. Nirkhi is not affiliated with Flipkart.
Summary
On Flipkart, focus on Certified Buyer share, rating spread, bursts, templated wording and photos. A review checker like Nirkhi puts those signals side by side in seconds; the decision stays yours.
